About

I’m Ken Wolfe and I am running to be your next City Council Representative here in District 3 on May 21st. My story is typical Pittsburgh.  An immigrant grandfather came to America, found his soul mate and put down roots here. My parents met very young on the streets of my neighborhood, Allentown, married and raised six children struggling through some of the toughest times Pittsburgh has known.  My Dad worked at J&L Southside before PNC bank where he was a shop steward during the Justice for Janitors strike in 1987. As a young child the strike made a lasting impact. I started working young to help my family make ends meet, I might have even been your paperboy.

My public service started in the early 2000’s when I attended a meeting about the impact

of a local bank leaving the neighborhood, and because of that meeting I was asked to join the board of the Allentown Neighborhood Assoc, I  saw the opportunity as a good way to advocate and show pride in the community in which I was born, raised, and made a lifelong home.

I want to be your City Councilman to make connections and work together on the issues that affect us all. I have seen what happens firsthand and know how the city can help us.  I will be your voice in the halls of government. My experiences and passion have well prepared me on my journey to City Council and has made me better able to proudly serve and affect positive changes in the home I love and share with my beautiful wife and our expanding family. I will work for YOU.

Experience and Service

My passion for community activism led me to change careers and I have worked in both the city and state governments helping citizens navigate the never-ending bureaucracy.  I serve on numerous civic and non-profit organization boards to support people, beautify and protect our land, and keep our neighborhoods safe, affordable, and thriving.

Specifically, I have experience:

  •        Working with local, state and federal governments
  •        Working for Pittsburgh City Council and the House of Representative of Pennsylvania
  •        Working with community leaders, nonprofits, foundations, community orgs and the faith and business community
  •        Board Member and Past President of Allentown CDC
    • Past President Young Democrats of Allegheny County
    • Democratic committeeman for over 14 years
    • Past President of Zone 3 Public Safety Council
    • Three Rivers Pittsburgh Regatta Board Member
    • Scenic Pittsburgh Board member
    • Young Preservationists Association

My work with others has resulted in:

  •         Repaving of E. Warrington Avenue
  •         Advocacy for much-needed economic resources for our Neighborhoods
  •         Dog Park and sculpture location in South Side riverfront park
  •         Porch furniture legislation

My Priorities for office include:

Governmental Accountability - making government work for us and not against

Tax Reform - keeping long time residents in place

Public Safety - better community and police relations

Supporting Small Business - helping with awareness and tools

Livability and Accessibility for All - solutions to help Pgh be better for all
